Scholarships

Scholarships on this page are sorted based on deadline dates with the closest deadline date listed first. These are primarily local scholarships, and you can find additional opportunities at the links below:

 

 

The Greeneville/Greene County Retired Teachers Association will award three $1,000 scholarships to graduating seniors who plan to become teachers. In addition to pursuing a major in elementary or secondary education, applicants must have a GPA of 3.0 or better and ACT Composite of 21 or higher. The deadline for this scholarship is February 20, 2026. Applications can be found on the Scholarship Documents page below and printed in the Counseling Office.

 

The Horatio Alger Scholarship Program seeks to assist students who have demonstrated perseverance in the face of adversity and have financial need. To be eligible, 1.) you must be a US citizen, 2.) a high school Junior, 3.) have a family adjusted gross income of $100,000 or lower, 4.) be involved in co-curricular and community service activities, and 5.) have a minimum GPA of 2.0.

For Junior students, online application and all documentation must be submitted by March 1, 2026.

 

 

The Ned McWherter Scholars Program is intended to encourage academically gifted Tennessee seniors to attend college in Tennessee by offering a $6,000 per year award. To be eligible you must have a 3.75+ GPA and a minimum ACT composite of 32. You must complete the application online (TSAC Portal). Applications and supporting materials must be received by TSAC by March 1, 2026.

 

The Stan and Thelma Plumlee Scholarship is a $5,000 scholarship offered by the Tennessee Manufactured Housing Association. To qualify you must be a senior planning to attend a Tennessee college, university, or trade school and must be associated with the manufactured or modular housing construction industry. Applications can be found on the Scholarship Documents page below and printed in the Counseling Office. Applications must be received (via mail) no later than March 5, 2026.

 

The $1,500 Greene County Livestock Association Scholarship is awarded to a senior who is a native of Greene County and is involved in agriculture. This student must be planning to attend a 2 or 4 year college in Tennessee, pursue a field of student which is agricultural in nature, and have at least a 3.0 GPA or higher in high school. Applications can be found on the Scholarship Documents page below or picked up in the Counseling Office and must be postmarked or emailed to [email protected] by March 6, 2026.

 

The East Tennessee Foundation has 75+ scholarships that are offered to counties in East Tennessee (some of which are Greene County/Greeneville City Schools specific). You can complete one common application to apply to all of these scholarships. You can see detailed scholarship qualifications on the East Tennessee Foundation website. The application deadline for all of these scholarships is March 15, 2026.

 

The Kiwanis Club of Greeneville is offering the Haskell Wells and Ken Earl Memorial Scholarship to seniors who will pursuing a program of higher education after high school and are residents of Greene County. Multiple scholarships will be awarded, and selected applicants will be called for a brief interview. Applications can be found on the Scholarship Documents page below and printed in the Counseling Office. Applications and all supporting documents must be submitted by March 27, 2026.

 

The 2026 Jessica Colter Scholarship is a one-time $2,000 scholarship open to a Greeneville/Greene County high school senior planning to major in healthcare. The award may defray the cost of any accredited, post-secondary educational institution during the 2026-2027 academic years. Applications can be found on the Scholarship Documents page below and printed in the Counseling Office. Applications and all supporting documents must be submitted by March 31, 2026.

 

Greeneville Lodge #692 is sponsoring the Loyal Order of Moose Scholarship which awards one $1,000 scholarship to a senior at each of the five area high schools. Scholarships are awarded based on ACT score, GPA, civic and extracurricular activities. Applications can be found on the Scholarship Documents page below and printed in the Counseling Office. Applications and all supporting documents must be submitted by April 03, 2026.

 

The Women of the Moose Scholarship is a $1,000 scholarship for seniors. It is awarded based on financial need, GPA, ACT, civic and extra-curricular activities. Applications can be found on the Scholarship Documents page below and printed in the Counseling Office. Applications and all supporting documents must be submitted by April 03, 2026.

 

The Greene County Democratic Women's Club awards the $500 Leora Bullen Scholarship to a qualifying Greeneville/Greene County senior. Applicants must be a Democrat and/or have Democratic family ties and submit a brief essay explaining your understanding of the principles and beliefs of the Democratic Party and why you support the party. Applications can be found below on the Scholarship Documents page and printed in the Counseling Office. Applications along with supporting materials must be submitted no later than April 08, 2026.

 

The Tennessee Federation of Democratic Women awards the Anna Belle Clement O'Brien Scholarship to a qualifying female high school senior. Other requirements include having a 3.0+ GPA and ACT composite of 24 or higher. There is an essay portion of this application which has to be about the following topic: "The Importance of Protecting Women's Rights & Voting in America". Applications can be found below on the Scholarship Documents page and printed in the Counseling Office. Applications and supporting materials must be submitted by April 08, 2026.
