Graduation Recognitions (Honors Programs)

CDHS Honors Program Requirements

 

Greene County Graduate with Honors (Gold Stole) starting 21/22 school year
In order to earn Honors, a student must complete the following:
  • Maintain a minimum GPA** of 3.5 (no rounding),
  • Earn 30 credits,
  • Score at or above all of the subject area readiness benchmarks on the ACT** (Benchmark scores English:18 Reading:22 Math:22 Science:23),
  • In addition students must complete:
    · two (2) years Honors English OR one (1) AP English or Dual Enrollment English IV
    · two (2) years Honors math OR one (1) math class at the highest level (Calculus, Pre-Calculus, Probability and Statistics)
    · one (1) higher level science class (Honors, AP, Dual Enrollment).

 

TN Community Service Scholar (Purple Cord) 
  • Perform 80 hours or more volunteer service hours to help your community. These hours must be done before school or after school and cannot be counted as a grade or for pay. Mission trips can be counted as 8 hours per day you work. Please make sure you keep a log of your hours.

 

TN Graduate with Distinction (Silver Cord)
Students will be recognized as graduating with ‘state distinction’ by attaining a B average and completing at least one of the following:
  • Earn a state or nationally recognized industry certification
  • Participate in at least one of the Governor’s Schools
  • Participate in one of the state’s All-State musical organizations
  • Be selected as a National Merit Finalist or Semi-finalist
  • Attain a 31 or higher ACT** score
  • Attain a 3 or higher on at least 2 AP exams
  • Earn at least 12 college credits
 
Work Ethic Distinction (Red, White & Blue Cord)
Students must earn a minimum of 32 points within the LEAP Work Ethic Standards. Students must turn in all documentation to Dr. Hoeke or the Counseling Dept by Spring Break. Standards can be found at  http://tnworkethic.com/

 

TN Ready Graduate (Gold Tri-Star Hood) - Hood must be purchased by the student

To be considered a “READY GRADUATE” by the state of TN, a student must complete one of the following by graduation:

  1. Score a 21 or higher composite on the ACT** (or SAT equivalent)
  2. Complete four (4) Early Post-Secondary Opportunities (EPSOs)
  3. Complete two (2) EPSOs + earn an industry certification (in an approved CTE program of study, EPSOs may be general education and/or included in a CTE program of study).
  4. Complete two (2) EPSOs + score 31 or above on the Armed Services Vocational Aptitude Battery (ASVAB).
ACT 30+ Club (Black/Gold Cord)
These students score 30 or higher on their ACT** composite score.
 
ACT 25+ Club (Black/Silver Cord)
These students score 25 - 29 on their ACT** composite score.
 
ACT 21+ Club (Black Cord)
These students score 21 - 24 on their ACT** composite score. 
 
CDHS Highest Honors
These students graduate with a weighted GPA** of 4.25 or higher
 
CDHS Honors
These students graduate with a weighted GPA** of 3.5 - 4.24
 
**GPA & ACT scores will only be used based on the GPA & ACT scores obtained by Fall Semester of the senior year.**
