Chuckey-Doak High School Band Commitment Contract

 

Congratulations on being a member of the Chuckey-Doak High School Band!  You have been chosen to be a part of a very important and elite organization at Chuckey-Doak High School. This school year has been complicated and not ideal, but it is that time of the year that we have to start preparing for the 20-21 school year for the CDHS band. This commitment contract is to inform parents and students about required summer attendance at Pre-Band Camp and Band Camp.  Students and parents, please review the following guidelines, sign below and return to Ms. Walker before Monday, April 27, 2020 with a $50.00 camp deposit. You can email or send by mail to Ms. Walker. This form can also be found on the Chuckey-Doak Band Page.

 

1. All members will be enrolled in Band at Chuckey-Doak High School.

 

2. Second semester, all instrumental students are expected to be enrolled in Concert Band which meets during 4th period.

 

3. All band members are required to attend pre-band camp (July 13-17, 8:00am-1:30pm /Section Leaders 1:30-2:00) and band camp (July 20-24 8:00am-6:30pm) in order to be guaranteed a place in the show. Remember, we learn fundamentals and the show music at pre-band camp and we learn to march the show at band camp!

 

4. All members will attend all scheduled rehearsals and performances. Marching Band requirements: Pre-Band Camp, Band Camp, After-School Rehearsals (Monday 6-8pm and Thursday 3:00-4:00pm), Home and In-Town Away Football Games, and weekend commitments for Competitions in late September and October and Community Performances such as Christmas Parade. I understand that Marching Band requires commitment and dedication. We are a TEAM practicing to earn superior ratings and maximize quality performances.

 

5. Any changes to this agreement will only be permitted with the mutual consent of the band director, the student, and the student’s parents.

 

6. All Band students will receive a Summer/Fall Calendar before the end of the school year. At the beginning of the school year, your child will receive a band manual that will explain in more detail their responsibilities for band class/fine arts credit.

Signing below indicates that the student and parents have read and understand this contract. Please return this commitment contract to Ms. Walker no later than Monday, April 27, 2020. You need to mail your $50.00 camp deposit to Brandy Hurley, P.O. Box 922, Mosheim TN 37818. Make checks payable to Chuckey-Doak Band Boosters. All student money for camp pays for our band t-shirt, marching drill, music, extra instruction, and necessary camp essentials. We will not refund any Band Camp Money if we are able to continue with our Marching Band program this summer!

 

_____Yes, I will be enrolling in the CDHS Band for fall semester 2020. I understand that marching band will be the curriculum for the fall semester. I am expected to pay $125 to fund our Band Camp. If you have any problems, please contact Ms. Jamie Walker. A $50.00 nonrefundable deposit must be paid with this signed contract and the remaining $75 must be paid before or on the 1st day of Pre-Band Camp on July 13, 2020.
