ABOUT MR NASERI

My Teaching Philosophy

My name is Mr. Noah Naseri. It is my goal to provide an educationally challenging, yet fun classroom experience. My educational philosophy is based on experiences. Experiencing hands-on learning, problem-based learning, and encouraging creativity are central components of our biology curriculum. Using technology in labs and during independent learning will prepare students for a future in a technological world. A diversity of instructional procedures will customize class for a variety of learning styles and interests. A democratic classroom will allow students to choose their own educational opportunities based on their interests. Preparing students for the real world, a career, as future citizens is rewarding and has drawn me into the classroom as a teacher. I am excited about this learning and ready to go!

A little more about me...

I am proud to be a resident of Greene County and graduate of Chuckey-Doak High School.  I played four years of soccer for the Black Knights.  At East Tennessee State University I studied biology and secondary education (and I have a minor in bluegrass!)  As a student, I was the secretary of the ETSU chapter of the Student Tennessee Education Association. My teaching experience includes teaching as a songwriting instructor at Camp Creek Elementary and Chuckey Elementary after the 2011 tornados in Greene County. I was the head science teacher for STEM Summer 2013 in Johnson City, TN.  I have also taught Upward Bound summer classes including ornithology, invertebrate zoology, and service learning. After graduating college, I undertook my dream of hiking the Appalachian Trail from Georgia to Maine. And in 2017 I rode my bicycle from coaset to coast, over 4000 miles in 59 days. Some of my interests include outdoor sports, soccer, photography, and playing music. I look forward to learning about all my students and their interests.

At Chuckey-Doak High School I coach cross country and track.  I also coach a high school mountain biking team in Greene and Washington County. I sponsor and advise the Outdoors Club and enjoy going on our many outings.  I am also the technology coach and webmaster for the school. I teach biology and AP Biology.
