  1. the FFA Parlimentary Procedure Team placed 1st in the Smoky Mountain Sub-Regional Contest. 
    •the FFA Conduct of Chapter Meeting Team placed 1st in the Smoky Mountain Sub-Regional Contest. 

    We swept the contest by placing first in both events tonight. That is a very unusual occurrence and we credit all to the kids dedication to our program.

Announcements:

  • TODAY is the last day to reapply with TCAT to keep your place on the waiting list! Please see Ms. Allison in the front office for assistance with College applications and FAFSA.
  • The FFA will be having a chapter cookout tonight from 5:30 – 7:30. There will be food, games, and fun. All FFA members are encouraged to stay after school as there will be a meeting before the cookout. Dress warmly!
  • The FFA will be holding our 2nd installment of our Adopt-A-Highway program this Saturday (11/17) beginning at 8 am. We need as many FFA members as possible to help. If you would like to help the community service hours will be great for college applications and scholarships. If you want to help, see Mr. Clemmer or Mr. Murray to get a permission form.
  • FCA will meet at 7:30 am Friday, Nov 16th.  Gratefulness, Gratitude and Gravy will be served. Everyone is invited!
  • Senior CareerConnect students will meet with Mr Loving in the Guidance Conference Room during KnightTime on Tuesday Nov 20th. 
  • Sophomore CareerConnect students have a meeting after school in the cafe on Tuesday Nov 20th
  • JR and SR who are interested in taking dual enrollment classes in the spring at Walter State, ETSU or Tusculum University need to go by guidance ASAP.  Deadline for application is Nov. 20!
  • November 20 interim reports go out
  • November 21-23 Thanksgiving Break
  • November 27 Pizza Inn 4:30-9PM Fundraiser for Bowling Team
  • FOOD DRIVE COMPETITION ends Monday!  Bring in needed items (see the lists in the hallways) and help your class win donuts and juice plus help our CDHS families in need.

  1. All Football players need to see Coach Murphy or Coach Donahue by Friday. Just stop by their class for a minute to vote.

Shout out to:

  • Educators from teachers to classified staff to café workers! We celebrate everyone who contributes to educating our students. American Education Week was first celebrated in 1921. Begun as part of an effort to raise Americas literacy rate after WWI, American Education Week now serves as a special opportunity to shine a light on the great things that schools do. 
  • Allyson Burgner, Shelby Garland, Hannah Lovergine, and Shea Thornburg for representing Chuckey-Doak FFA last night at the Greene County agricultural advisory committee meeting and representing our school and chapter in a very positive light.

  • Thursday, November 15, Erika Adams from FASFA student assistance will be here to help Seniors and their parents with the FASFA.  It is by appointment only so parents please call to set that up or students see Ms. Ruth Ann Tipton.
  • Niswonger Online will be offering a new high school Fine Arts elective in Spring 2019Visual Arts 3 -Digital Photography

  • Good luck to our basketball teams as they travel to Northview Academy for their opening game.  We know you will be a class act on and off the court. Thank you for representing our school.
  • Football players need to get personal items out of field house. It will be open after school until 330. If anything is left by Wednesday it will be thrown away.  Also all Football players need to see Coach Murphy or Coach Donahue by Friday. Just stop by their class for a minute to vote.

  • Today at 2:15 in the auditorium, we will have a special guest speaker for freshmen and sophomores.  We will do an all call at 2:00 to ask teachers to dismiss those students.
  • JR and SR who are interested in taking dual enrollment classes in the spring at Walter State, ETSU or Tusculum University need to go by guidance ASAP.  Deadline for application is Nov. 20!

Athletics:

  • Football players need to get personal items out of field house. It will be open after school until 330. f anything is left by Wednesday it will be thrown away. 
  • The CDHS Mens and Womens swim team traveled to Kingsport for their first High School swim meet of the season, the 9th Annual Pentathlon.  In this meet each swimmer can compete in the pentathlon and / or the decathlon.  Each swimmer must compete in (5) individual events for the pentathlon and (10) individual events for the decathlon.  The total times for the events are added up and the swimmer with the lowest total time wins.
  • Melody Ottinger competed in both finishing 2nd in the decathlon.  Zachary Anguish competed in both finishing 1st in the decathlon and 2nd in the pentathlon.  This included teams from around North East Tennessee including teams from Knoxville.They continue there season with a dual meet this Thursday at Elizabethton.

Announcements:

  • November 13 Field Trip to First Christian Church (Ms. Catron will send list) and at 2 PM we will have a guest speaker, Wayne Campbell, for Freshmen and Sophomores only.
  • November 14 Interim grading period ends
