*Please do your research and pick novels that are right for you. Also, be advised that some of these books contain content, whether only at times or a primary part of the novel, that may be uncomfortable for some readers. This can include language, themes, etc. Please research the novel you are interested in to be sure it is one you are comfortable with. There are different award winning and highly praised novels on this list to appeal to different readers.*

English I

Mrs. Miller will be teaching most of the sections of English I, including Pre-AP (Honors). All incoming Freshmen need to read their required number of Summer Reading Novels depending on the class they are in. They must have their books read by the first day of school in the Fall due to the summer reading test or graphic organizer. Although the first half of English I is called something different, it is still English I. The books are available in libraries, or they can be purchased in a used bookstore or online for usually ten dollars or less if it is a paperback edition. Of course, each place can vary on prices. English I classes need to read one of the novels from the list, and Pre-AP needs to read two novels from the list. Please send an email if you have any questions. Kimberly.miller@gcstn.org
