Shelly Woolsey Smith is a native of Greene County and a graduate of North Greene High School. She earned a Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education from Tusculum College, a Master’s degree in Educational Leadership and Policy Analysis from East Tennessee State University, and an Educational Specialist degree in Curriculum and Instruction from Lincoln Memorial University. Mrs. Smith has twenty-eight years’ experience in public K-12 education with eleven of those years in administrative roles including principal and chief human resources officer.
Mrs. Smith is married to Nathan Smith, and they have twin daughters, Lauren and Lindsey Smith. She enjoys reading, traveling, hiking, biking, and sports. She and her family are members of the First Baptist Church of Greeneville where she is an active member of the Abiders Sunday School Class and the FBC adult choir.
